Public Procurement in Nigeria: Rules, Tenders and Compliance

$15.99

Public procurement is how government spends a large share of its budget, and it is one of the biggest markets for Nigerian businesses. This course explains Nigeria’s federal public procurement rules from both sides of the tender: the public officers who buy, and the businesses and consultants who bid and deliver.

It covers the Public Procurement Act 2007 as amended by the Finance Acts 2020 and 2023, the 2007 Regulations, the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and its No Objection, contractor registration, complaints to the Accounting Officer, the BPP and the Federal High Court, and local content and Nigeria First, with practical Nigerian examples. The focus is on principles that do not change: value for money, competition, transparency, fairness, accountability and a complete written record. States have their own procurement laws, which this course does not cover.

Thresholds, percentages, time limits and fees are shown as 2026 examples and are expected to change. All of them are collected in a dated reference table at the end of the course. Always double-check any figure that may have changed with the BPP or a qualified adviser before you act.
