Public procurement is how government spends a large share of its budget, and it is one of the biggest markets for Kenyan businesses. This course explains Kenya’s public procurement rules from both sides of the tender: the public officers who buy, and the businesses and consultants who bid and deliver.
It covers Article 227 of the Constitution, the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (Cap 412C), the 2020 Regulations, PPRA, the Review Board (PPARB), the e-GP system and AGPO, with practical Kenyan examples. The focus is on principles that do not change: value for money, competition, transparency, fairness, accountability and a complete written record.
Thresholds, percentages, time limits and fees are shown as 2026 examples and are expected to change. All of them are collected in a dated reference table at the end of the course. Always double-check any figure that may have changed with PPRA, the Review Board or a qualified adviser before you act.
