Tax touches every part of a business: payroll, purchasing, sales, contracts, investment decisions and financial reporting. Professionals who understand how the Nigerian tax system works can keep their organisations compliant, avoid costly penalties and spot opportunities and risks early.
This course teaches the principles and processes of Nigerian tax compliance in a practical, structured way. It focuses on how each tax works, who is responsible, how it is calculated and what good compliance looks like, rather than on memorising figures that change from budget to budget. It is designed for accountants, tax officers, payroll and HR practitioners, finance managers, business owners and consultants working with Nigerian businesses. The first lesson of each module covers the basics.
What you will learn
- How the Nigerian tax system is organised: the main laws, the tax authorities, registration and the principles of good compliance

How the course works
There are five modules, each with four lessons and a short quiz. You need 70% on each quiz to complete the course and earn your certificate.
About rates and figures
Tax rates, thresholds and penalty amounts change regularly. Lessons explain the method, and worked examples use the rates at the time of writing. All current rates and limits are collected in one Course reference table at the end of the final lesson. Always check the latest law and Nigeria Revenue Service guidance, and take professional advice on specific cases.
